Current Event: South Asia (Pakistan)

On April 2, the Pakistani court ordered the 3 wives of Osama bin Laden including his 2 daughters to serve 6 weeks in detention. This was due to the fact that they entered the country illegally. According to their family lawyer, they were to serve the 6 weeks before being deported out of the country. Not only that, but the 5 individuals were fined about $110 each on top of their 6 week term and their deportation. The wives are currently under house arrest in Islamabad. They are to be deported on the 15th of April which will mark the end of their 6 week sentence (since the arrest was on March 3). I think this goes on to say that some countries can be strict on how they treat those who violated their laws. This, by no means, doesn’t mean that you should take advantage of those countries that aren’t as strict. Because of their poor decisions, the 3 wives and 2 daughters are being punished by the crimes they have committed. To read more about this story, check out the article here:
